Ingredients needed for serving 4 persons
Rice flour: 400-500 grams.
Raw coriander seeds: 25-30 grams.
Cardamom: 5-6.
Curry leaves: to taste
Cumin (small jeera): to taste
Salt: to taste
Grated coconut: 1 cup
Method of preparation
Boil 2-3 litres of water with Coriander seeds. Adding some curry leaves to the boiling water is also recommended. This mix should boil for a long time till the flavour of coriander and curry leaves mellows.
Take fried rice powder in a bowl, add the aforementioned boiled water slowly and keep on stirring. Add jeera seeds, grated coconut, powdered cardamom and salt to this mix. As we need to make small rice balls out of this mix, the consistency of the dough should not be too watery. Make small rice balls (size of small lime) with this dough. Each ball should be kept seperated from each other to avoid sticking together. Once the rice balls are ready, cook them in the remaining coriander water. Care should be taken so that the rice balls does not stick to the bottom of the vessel. Serve hot with chicken or mutton curry.
